Wilderness First Aid
$150.00
Wilderness First Aid (WFA) is a two-day course that focuses on prevention, assessment, and treatment of an ill or injured person in a remote environment where definitive medical care or rapid transport in not immediately available. WFA prepares participants to identify and address medical issues or injuries that can arise in remote settings and gives the confidence to be an effective leader in these situations. You’ll learn Patient Assessment, how to provide effective first aid treatments for injuries and illnesses common in the outdoors, and how to make appropriate evacuation decisions. It's not just for the backcountry; it is just as relevant in urban areas during natural disasters or other events when emergency services may be strained. CPR/AED and Basic First Aid certification is recommended prior to taking this course, although not required.
